NFSA Card Categories and Benefits

The National Food Security Act (NFSA) Ration Card in Gujarat is managed by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Govt. of Gujarat to provide subsidized or free monthly food grains to eligible families.

Card Categories and Benefits

Gujarat issues two types of NFSA cards based on income and eligibility criteria:

  • Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY): Given to the poorest families. They receive 35 kg of food grains per card for free every month.
  • Priority Households (PHH): Given to eligible low-income families. Members receive 5 kg of food grains per person for free every month.
  • Subsidized Additions: All NFSA cardholders also receive 1 kg of Toor Dal at ₹50/kg and 1 kg of Chana at ₹30/kg monthly.

Smart Ration Card & Digital Services

The Gujarat government issues high-security, digitized Smart Ration Cards featuring embedded QR codes. These cards are mailed via Speed Post. Families can also download a copy online from home.

You can manage your ration card and allocations digitally via the following resources:

  • Check Status and Entitlements: Use the official Gujarat iPDS Portal to check if your card is NFSA-approved and view your exact monthly entitlement.
  • National Login: Eligible citizens can also access digital ration details or log in securely through the national NFSA Public Login using an Aadhaar OTP.
  • Mobile Services: Services can be accessed on mobile through the UMANG App’s My Ration-Gujarat Section to track live transaction histories.
  • Interstate Portability: Under the One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) rules, any Gujarat NFSA cardholder can pick up their rations from any fair-price shop across India using biometric fingerprint authentication.

To search and check your ration card category (such as AAYBPLAPL-1, or APL-2) in Gujarat, you can use either the state’s digital tracking portal or the central government website.
